With yoga tips against sweets and frustration

According to the view of the Indian yogis, the reaching for sweets often has to do with frustration, sadness, loneliness or emotional poverty. So far, so familiar. But the yogis add an interesting thought: it comes to this above all when we lack inner energy.
Their simple tip against it: eat something spicy. Spicy spices count, in this view, as especially rich in “sun” or energy. Whoever, at the next chocolate impulse, reaches instead, e.g., for a chilli pepper (a jar in the fridge suffices) will – so the experience – with time change their whole eating behaviour. A small self-experiment that has helped many.
This is meant in an experience-related way, no promise of healing. Whoever would like to tackle the actual trigger – the frustration – finds in the Energy Training of the Kyborg Institute a path of exercise to strengthen the inner energy and deal more calmly with such impulses.

Frequently asked questions
What is behind the tip?
In the yogic view, we reach out of frustration or emotional poverty for something sweet when we lack inner energy. To eat something spicy instead of chocolate is meant to shift the impulse. That is a personal, worldview-based view – no medical advice.
Does that replace a treatment?
No. With burdening frustration or eating behaviour, food cravings or a possible eating disorder, that belongs in medical or psychotherapeutic hands. Spicy food is not for everyone – with gastrointestinal complaints, better avoid it.
