The House of Memories, Schönbrunn Castle

How much is there to these memories? In 1980, after about 4 years of Kundalini Yoga, my wish grew more pressing to find, for once, a proof of earlier earthly lives. After I had turned these thoughts over within me for some time, I dreamed of a situation in which I lived as an abbot in a Benedictine monastery, with vivid images of a house with a particular outer staircase; then the name “Schönbrunn Castle” came into my consciousness, sometime in the 16th century. Now how to find it?
A postal code from meditation
In a second meditation the number 7106 appeared. What was that to mean? It was the postal code of Schönbrunn! My subconscious had given me a valuable tip. I visited three places in the region called Schönbrunn; two meant nothing to me, but the third had a very powerful effect on me. The castle itself was clearly not the place I was seeking. But when I looked down from the castle wall into the valley, I felt utterly ill. Down there lay the estate that I had seen a few weeks earlier in my visions! In front of the house I then found the outer staircase from my dreams.
The old tithe house
The old tithe house of the monastery (where the farmers had to deliver their tithe) is the only one to have survived intact since the Middle Ages. My visions had thus first led me to a vantage point (Schönbrunn Castle) and then to a genuine relic from one of my earlier lives. What I report here is an abridged account; on the way to the goal and in the details there would be much more of the wondrous to tell. The interior of the “by chance” open vault, too – our old storeroom – seemed very familiar to me. (My son Tobias accompanied me on this journey into an earlier earthly life; the photographs were taken during a second visit in 1992.)
At first it was not possible for me to find a way down from the castle above into the valley to the old monastery. When I asked for the way, someone sent me to a Catholic priest who had married and now did family therapy. He showed me the way through the next village, then in a wide arc back to the monastery in the valley. Outside stood a sign, “Dominican Monastery”. I said to him: “But in my visions it was a Benedictine monastery!” He laughed and answered: “Yes, there you are right! The old monastery was built by Benedictines, but 200 years ago it was sold to the Dominicans. And now there is a state archive in it.” Even this chance acquaintance thus had a deeper meaning – to confirm for me one more detail from my visions. It is good when we receive confirmations for our visions again and again. It shows us that we are on the right path.
What does such a remembrance bring?
I have succeeded a few more times in tracing places of my earlier existence here on Earth, in order to experience, at these places and in the moods that arise there, how and where I lived before – and what I can now learn from it in order to release old karma. Freed from the old bonds into the past, we can live far more in the here and now. On the one hand it is perhaps good that we do not know everything from before; on the other, unconscious memories connect us, like fine tentacles, with past events. These can be the causes of disturbances in everyday life.
