Ecstasy
“Ex-stasis” is Latin and means “to step out of rest”. At the Kyborg Institute we understand ecstasy as the breaking-through of rigidified routine – an intuitive, gladdening state in which life becomes more alive again. This is expressly a personal, spiritual view.
Breaking through routine
For adults, much can become a wearying routine. At all times, people therefore had festivals and rituals in order to “flip out” and to sense themselves anew. In our view it helps to step out of the accustomed from time to time – in order afterwards to enjoy life more consciously and calmly.
Ways to ecstasy – without substances
Ecstatic experiences are possible in many ways: dance, music, the experience of nature, meditation, mindful closeness or a consciously shaped shared evening. We expressly make no recommendation for drugs – they carry risks and are not the way we mean.
What it is really about
The aim of genuine spiritual ways is, for us, not to take things too heavily: to become calmer and to enjoy the small, fine moments more consciously – on a loving, harmonious way.
