Pharaoh's chair

The pharaoh’s chair is an original art object by D. Harald Alke (Alke GmbH Spirituelle Kunst & Magie) – a meditation throne, inspired by the sacred seat of the Egyptian pharaohs. It is an instrument of recollection: whoever takes a seat on it should come to rest more easily, strengthen their own energy and – in this worldview-based view – open the “hidden gates of the soul”. This is a spiritual experience, no medical promise.

What does the pharaoh’s chair recall?

In ancient Egypt one created for the pharaoh a sacred chair out of an alabaster cube with sacred inscriptions. The cube – symbol of the earthly realm – was measured so that the pharaoh sat upright, the legs at a right angle, the feet firmly on the earth. Behind him a cobra reared up and spread its neck for protection: an emblem of the rising Kundalini energy that served the pharaoh, so that he could serve the gods and his people. For a long time Horus counted as the adviser of the pharaohs.

How is the pharaoh’s chair constructed?

D. Harald Alke has translated something of this old initiation energy into a present-day object:

• Seat: a solid acrylic plate that charges itself with one’s own bio-energy and strengthens it.
• Beneath it: a crystal sphere of an earth-connected kind of crystal (e.g. jasper or epidote).
• In the back: an exchangeable crystal rod that is to stimulate the Kundalini – a different stimulation according to the person.
• Frame: shields from the outer world like the shield of the cobra and ends at the front in the cobra head with a rock-crystal sphere (for clarity of mind – like the rock crystal in the crowns of old princes).
• Crowning: on the frame an energy pyramid Model A can be set – this strengthens the arrangement markedly.
• Material: nickel-plated copper tube (copper = Venus, nickel = Uranus, which stands for far-reaching transformation and recollection).

What it serves – and what it gives the seeker of meaning

The pharaoh’s chair is an instrument of initiation and recollection of age-old values and forces. It can help one to perceive oneself in a wide connectedness – from the past, through the present, into the future. Many people had visions on it or could clarify questions, in order to shape their life more clearly (see also reincarnation and Akasha).

If two people sit facing each other, deep shared experiences often arise – for instance in couple work, in order to set a relationship on a new basis, or between pupil and teacher. For the seeker of meaning, the pharaoh’s chair is thus less a piece of furniture than an invitation inward: a place at which one becomes conscious again of one’s own depth and dignity.
