The 9-Metre Project
The 9-metre project is the largest Horus energy pyramid installation in the world – a park of contemplation on the Le Braquet grounds in the French Pyrenees. D. Harald Alke built it in 1999, on the threshold of the third millennium, after ten years of planning: a 9-metre-high energy pyramid, complemented by Models A–G over some 156 metres. We understand the place not as proof but as an invitation – to people who seek depth, orientation and meaning.
The dedication: “The realisation of an idea”
A trilingual memorial plaque stands at the installation. It is the founding document of the project:
At the beginning of the 3rd millennium I present to humanity, as a symbol of life, the 1st Energy Pyramid of Horus.
The inner pyramid symbolises the power of the Earth that brought us forth. The axis symbolises the culture of humankind on Earth. The outer pyramid symbolises the power of the universe in which the Earth rests.

The idea: a park of contemplation
On Le Braquet, art and nature were meant to interlock. Harald Alke always also understood his energy pyramids as art objects – objects that awaken a mood and invite reflection, where words otherwise fail us (cf. life energy).
Thus no showplace arose, but a place of stillness: whoever holds their ear to the opening of the acrylic tube of the great pyramid hears the wind, which sounds like the mantra “OM”. A pond that has been laid out gives room to salamanders, newts and frogs. It is a place where you slow down – not a promise, but an experience that everyone may have for themselves.
How the project came about
In 1990 Harald Alke began to design a new type of pyramid. In his spiritual interpretation, the decisive impulses for this went back to channelled messages that he attributed to the being of light Horus – with the recurring hint to erect a large, 9-metre-high model before the turn of the millennium. Whether one shares this source or reads it as the artist’s inner image is left to each person; we present it as a frame of meaning, not as an assertion of fact.
The way there was uncertain. “I had nine years – and in the end help came from many sides.” When the undertaking was financially on the brink in 1999, a television appearance (Fliege TV) made its realisation possible. Harald Alke tells the full story in his book Der Pyramidenmann (‘The Pyramid Man’).
The installation: Models A–G over 156 metres
In a straight line from west to east, starting from the 9-metre pyramid, the entire installation with seven different energy pyramids was put into operation on 31 July 1999 – the Models A–G from 18 cm to 900 cm in height over some 156 metres. Harald Alke made the final adjustment on 11 August 1999 at the moment of the almost total solar eclipse – a moment in which, according to his account, nature “held its breath”.
In Harald Alke’s interpretation, the installation ties in with the idea of ley lines – large magnetic field lines of the Earth that he compares with the meridians of acupuncture. He describes the pyramids as “modulating” a fine, ordering impulse onto this flow. This is a spiritual interpretation and an artistic self-understanding – not a physical proof. We do not claim to know what works here and what does not; we invite you to become attentive yourself.
Horus’s message on the great pyramid
For the inauguration, Harald Alke recorded a channelled message that he attributed to Horus (5 September 1999). We render it as part of the work’s history, not as a statement of fact:
You will reconsider your philosophy in order to gain a new attitude to life. … People must learn to listen inwardly and to trust themselves. … The energy pyramids are keys to the primal ground.
Remarkable is the attitude behind it: not obedience, but listening inwardly and trusting yourself. This is precisely the guiding thread of the project.
Phenomena around the installation
For some years now we have repeatedly photographed unusual light phenomena in the vicinity of the great pyramid – bright points that seem to drift across the installation, sometimes visible in the camera and not in the picture, sometimes the other way round, in digital as well as film recordings.
We interpret this as an indication that the boundary between the familiar and the subtle might be more permeable than we think. It cannot be proven, and we do not claim it either – we report what we have observed and leave the interpretation to you.
A message of hope – and of self-responsibility
In a hundred years, humanity has reached enormous technical heights – in Harald Alke’s view often at the expense of its own soul and of fine, inner perception. The 9-metre project sets a quiet counter-image against this: an impulse towards reorientation that urges no one.
