Stuttering
Stuttering is a disturbance of the flow of speech in which sounds, syllables or words are repeated, drawn out or blocked. The reliable way is speech therapy. At the Kyborg Institute we additionally read the theme on a soul-related level – expressly as a personal, worldview-based view.
A sensitive reading
In our reading, stuttering can have to do with uncertainty and the fear of not being accepted or of “not being allowed to speak”. An environment that listens patiently and takes one seriously does good. That is a sensitive observation – no claim about causes and expressly no attribution of blame; stuttering is no “mistake in upbringing”.
The reliable way: speech therapy
With stuttering, speech therapy helps – with children as early as possible. Relaxation methods and a strengthened self-confidence can supplement this, but replace no treatment.
What does that mean in practice?
- Take up speech therapy help, with children early.
- Listen patiently, do not put under pressure, take seriously.
- Understand relaxation as a supplement, not as a healing method.
Note: This article renders a personal, worldview-based view and is not medical advice. It replaces no medical diagnosis or treatment. For health questions please turn to a doctor or pharmacy; do not discontinue prescribed medication on your own initiative.
