Periodontal disease
Periodontal disease (professionally mostly periodontitis) is an illness of the tooth-supporting structures in which gums and bone around the teeth recede. It is well treatable by a dentist – untreated, the loss of teeth threatens. At the Kyborg Institute we consider the theme additionally on a soul-related level.
Our reading
In our reading, with periodontal disease inner support is lacking and the strength to “bite through” – an image for lasting being overwhelmed. Our teeth are, in this view, also an expression of how someone deals with their life. What strengthens the whole person, in our experience, is a life with more inner strength, calm and good self-care.
What does that mean in practice?
- Good mouth and tooth care is the basis.
- Attend to a balanced diet and reduce stress.
- Look at the soul-related context (overload, lacking support).
