Ears
The ears are the sense organs for hearing and at the same time for balance. At the Kyborg Institute we consider ear themes additionally on a soul-related level, expressly as a personal, worldview-based view.
Our reading
With the ears we hear – and in the language the note of “obeying” resonates (in German, hören and gehorchen share a root). In our reading, “not being able to hear” often has to do with “not wanting to hear”: with stubbornness, with protest against life’s circumstances or with withdrawal from the world of others. This can occur in closed-off older people just as in sad or sulky children. Because the ears are also organs of balance, we read ear problems as the question: What has just thrown me off balance? An inflammation of the middle ear we connect symbolically with suppression, fear or the grief over a loved one. These are pictorial suggestions, no claims about causes.
What does that mean in practice?
- Have hearing loss, earache, tinnitus or dizziness clarified by an ENT doctor.
- Ask oneself: what do I not want to hear right now – and what has thrown me off balance?
- Stay open to the new instead of closing oneself off.
Note: This article renders a personal, worldview-based view and is not medical advice. It replaces no medical diagnosis or treatment. For health questions please turn to a doctor or pharmacy; do not discontinue prescribed medication on your own initiative.

The ears are the sense organs for hearing and at the same time for balance. Complaints – such as hearing loss, tinnitus or dizziness – belong to be clarified by a doctor (ENT).
How does the Kyborg Institute read ear themes?
In our reading it is about 'wanting to hear' and about balance: whoever 'will not hear', or whoever has been thrown off track, can find that mirrored here. That is a pictorial, personal reading.
