Liver
The liver is the central organ of metabolism: it stores nutrients, detoxifies and forms bile. At the Kyborg Institute we additionally read the organ on an energetic-symbolic level.
The 3rd chakra – strength and measure
We assign the liver to the 3rd chakra – the navel power centre. In our reading we connect liver themes with strength, will and the right measure: whoever overreaches, constantly wants to do justice to others’ demands or “consumes themselves” does not live in balance. Different views (medicine, yoga, indigenous traditions) can, for us, complement each other into a richer overall picture.
What does that mean in practice?
- Handle alcohol in moderation – liver illnesses, for instance in connection with alcoholism or metabolism, belong in medical treatment in any case.
- A moderate, healthy way of life and relaxation do well-being good.
