At the Kyborg Institute we additionally read it on an energetic-symbolic level as an organ of contact – expressly as a personal, worldview-based view and always only as a supplement to the medical assessment. The skin as an organ of contact – how we read it
In our reading, the skin mirrors how we deal with closeness and touch. A disturbed contact with the environment can show itself symbolically on the “boundary surface” of the skin. We assign it to the region of the 4th chakra (heart, feeling) and connect skin themes with sensitivity, fear or the wish for protection. That is an inner image – no claim about causes and no attribution of blame.

Skin illnesses have manifold medical causes and belong to be clarified by a dermatologist. In particular it holds: measles, rubella and scarlet fever are contagious illnesses that must be medically treated and can have serious complications; against measles and rubella a vaccination protects.
