The throat – 5th chakra and communication
The throat stands, at the Kyborg Institute, in connection with the 5th chakra (throat chakra) – in our view the seat of speech and expression. Throat complaints we read symbolically as a possible hint that someone can recognise or express their “inner truth” only with difficulty. This is expressly a personal, worldview-based view. Physical throat complaints belong to be clarified by a doctor.
The throat chakra and expression
To the 5th chakra we ascribe the thyroid and the area of speech and voice. In our reading, complaints such as a “tightening”, hoarseness or throat inflammations can be symbolically connected with fear, suppressed anger or the pressure of having to fulfil expectations. Everything that strengthens safety and self-confidence supports, according to our understanding, free expression. These are pictorial readings – no medical statements about causes.
Gemstones – symbolic, not healing
Traditionally, stones such as aquamarine, lapis lazuli and turquoise are ascribed to the throat chakra. We understand them as beautiful, symbolic companions for the theme of communication – they have no medical or healing effect. Earlier statements of effect and sales links we have removed.
Mantras and singing
Singing and mantras can, as an exercise of expression, bring joy and strengthen the feeling for one’s own voice. This we understand as a beneficial, creative practice – not as a healing method.
When to the doctor?
- In the case of strong/persistent sore throat, fever, difficulty swallowing or breathing, have it clarified by a doctor.
- In the case of lumps on the neck, persistent hoarseness or thyroid complaints, have it examined professionally.
