Hair
At the Kyborg Institute we read hair on an energetic-symbolic level: as fine “antennae” with which we – in our image – take up and give off sensitive impressions and energy. Healthy, strong hair we read as a sign of much positive life force. That is expressly a personal, worldview-based view and no medical statement.
Hair as an expression of life force
Stringy, feeble hair or hair loss we read symbolically as a possible hint of a slackening inner flow, of annoyance or exhaustion. A good general condition – balanced diet, movement, rest – does the hair good too, according to our understanding. That is a worldview-based observation and no promise of healing: hair loss has many possible causes, and with stronger or sudden loss it belongs to be clarified by a doctor.
Grey or white hair we do not automatically understand as a loss, but often as a shift of the forces – more inwards, more mental activity. A bald head, too, need not mean any decline in our reading; some traditions (such as Zen monks) shave it deliberately.
Care and surroundings
In our view, the surroundings also play a role: pollutants and smog burden scalp and hair. We simply recommend regular washing with mild shampoos – care advice, no healing statements.
Factual: hair loss with chemotherapy
If people lose their hair during a cancer treatment, this is a known side effect of some chemotherapies, which also affect fast-growing hair-root cells. After the conclusion of the treatment the hair usually grows back again. That is a factual classification and expressly no disparagement of the therapy.
Note: This article renders a personal, worldview-based view and is not medical advice. It replaces no medical diagnosis or treatment. For health questions please turn to a doctor or pharmacy; do not discontinue prescribed medication on your own initiative.
