Face
Our face is our most important surface of communication with the environment. Expression, eyes and radiance often betray more than words. At the Kyborg Institute we consider the face additionally on a soul-related, spiritual level, expressly as a personal, worldview-based view.
Our reading
In therapeutic work, D. Harald Alke has observed how a face can change several times within seconds – as if inner moods and memories were being “played through”. Thus a face can give hints of what moves a person. To the “face” we count not only the muscles but also the radiance and the aura. The calmer and more attentive we ourselves are, the better we perceive such fine signals.
The wrinkles especially we understand positively: they express lived experience. In the fine lines around the eyes we see – from a spiritual view – something that connects the person with the greater (cf. akasha). To be ashamed of one’s wrinkles is, from this view, unnecessary. All of this is a personal, spiritual reading, no medical statement.
What does that mean in practice?
- Attend to your own expression and what it mirrors.
- A facial massage can relax and do good – “caresses for the soul”.
- Accept the traces of life instead of wanting to hide them.

Frequently asked questions
Why is the face so important?
The face is our most important surface of communication: expression, eyes and radiance betray much about mood and condition – often more than words.
How does the Kyborg Institute read the face?
We read in the face moods, memories and – from a spiritual view – the aura and radiance of a person. Wrinkles we understand as traces of lived experience, not as a flaw. That is a personal, worldview-based view.
