Horus Art Objects
The Horus art objects by D. Harald Alke are spiritual works of art – sculptures, objects and paintings. For him, art is a means of expressing oneself where words do not suffice, and of making perceptible the fine, subtle impressions for which we often have no vocabulary. What is art?
For Harald Alke, art is a way to becoming aware of one’s own capacity for perception. Many artists have, with unusual actions – a 50 m copper rod driven vertically into the ground, a stone boat sunk in the sea – steered attention into new channels. Such seemingly “pointless” gestures have, in this view, a deeper meaning: they open the gaze to areas hitherto unnoticed.
Inspiration and channeling
Artistic impulses, for him, have to do with intuition and inspiration. In his account, during channeling he perceives images, words and sounds – “a whole film”. Whether one shares this source or reads it as the artist’s inner image is left to each person; we present it as a frame of meaning, not as an assertion of fact.
For some, his works are “magical instruments” or talismans, for others simply art – according to taste and understanding. Harald Alke interprets some things, and consciously not others: “Look for yourself, let my art take effect, and think what you will.”
Interactive learning
Many of his objects are intended as exercise devices – for the playful training of attention, perception and concentration. In his experience this succeeds particularly easily with the energy and meditation cones (see accessories); practical exercises for this are gathered in his book “Sensitivity Games”.
