Numerology – The little astrology for everyone

Numerology is “the astrology of the little man”. It is very easy to learn, unlike the much more complicated astrology. It cannot provide such sophisticated information as a good astrologer, but we can learn a great deal about tendencies, relationships and characteristics very quickly and easily from the individual numbers and birth dates.
What we know today as numerology is a section of the great ancient science of magic. Because back then, when all human knowledge was in the hands of shamans, magicians and priests, people always sensed the forces at work in or through a symbol.
Each number was assigned a celestial body. Stars and planets were and still are indications of higher-level forces that influence us. For a long time, we have called the research and application of these connections astrologicbecause there is an inner logic, an inner knowledge in the workings of the heavenly bodies. But there is not only a higher logic in it, but also, according to ancient conviction, a logos, a spirit. It is the spirit of a planet, its spiritual essence, that produces this influence.
It is like the duck and the chick. In nature, the chick can only see its mother first. It therefore immediately fixes its gaze on the first living being it encounters. This must be the mother! If it is a biologist, then the duckling is imprinted on this person.
And so it is with us and the planets. The baby is completely shielded in the womb. The moment it is born, it fixates on the constellation of stars that is currently present. It registers the radiation from the various celestial bodies, and this then determines the way it will shape its life, which forces it will feel attracted to, or what it will have problems with later, because certain planets were on the other side of the earth and had hardly any influence. The influence of the stars does indeed play a significant role in our lives. Whether the astrologers ‘ analyses are correct later on depends very much on the intuition of the individual astrologer , who has to harmonize the data and the personality of the person with the constellations in order to be able to make a statement.
Numerology states that everything that is under the sign of a certain number can be assigned to a certain celestial body. Because if we use the same designation, then there must also be something the same in an event or a thing!
Numerology reduces the entire universe to certain elementary units. In this respect, the cognitive path of numerology is therefore extremely modern. It shows parallels to the thinking of quantum physicists. Quantum physicists recognize that everything is created from the same small building blocks. If everything breaks down into similar components, the sub-elementary particles, the quarks, then one wonders why a collection of quarks sometimes becomes a rock and other times a person. Incidentally, there are 8 different quarks (sub-elementary building blocks).
If we try to think in terms of interrelationships, this could already provide us with a bridge to the Chinese doctrine of nature: The bagua plays a major role in Chinese mythology. It is an octagonal symbol on whose eight sides the various elements and characters of the I Ching are arranged. Each of these symbols has its own meaning, and it would certainly be interesting to link these symbols to the 8 quarks.
Similarly, in Kabbalah there are 8 sacred names or manifestations of God (see there!), and the Hindu religion also knows 8 names or manifestations of the one, divine elemental force. The sages of the various advanced civilizations have therefore always come to the same or similar conclusions. The names change, but not the content. From these few basic similarities alone, we can deduce that there are elementary cosmic laws that appear again and again on different levels. They determine our lives, our development. And those who succeed in developing a feeling for these things benefit from them on all levels of their existence.
The existence of these elementary building blocks, of which every kind of matter consists, was already written down in the Indian Upanishads around 1,500 BC. The British atomic physicist Stephen M. Phillips discovered 7 of the 8 quarks on the basis of the Upanishads and was awarded the Nobel Prize for his discovery.
Numerology assumes that the entire universe can be captured in numbers, symbols and values. Physicists say the same. The majority of people then, as now, had little knowledge. Who actually knows anything about physics today? Almost nobody.
This type of numerology is relatively old. I don’t know exactly how old. In any case, I got to know it a long time ago in India, where it is still in use today. My first Indian teacher Ishwaran was very well versed in these things.
Please note that Indian numerology mentions the planet Uranus, which was only discovered here in Europe in 1930, and Neptune, which was only discovered in 1845! The Indian Brahmins therefore had knowledge of planets that we only discovered 1000 years later with telescopes!
Numerology in this form was first brought to the West around 1900 by the world traveler Count Cheiro. Of course, it does not have the depth of a mystical initiation teaching such as the Kabbalah. Nevertheless, I think that numerology is well suited to recognizing more interesting aspects and connections in our world than school knowledge allows us to.
Just give it a try! Numerology can give us information about a person’s dispositions and motives, as well as about the main developmental tendencies in the present life and the karma that they bring with them from previous lives.
The attentive observation of inner connections demanded by numerology is a good training for our mind and our powers of observation. In this way it is quite useful for everyday life in our material world. In the western world, the mind is primarily programmed with “factual knowledge” and should only believe what is “proven”. If our mind discovers through the results of numerology that there are still unimagined horizons, it is more willing to accept other new, unfamiliar experiences. Numerology can therefore be seen as the beginning of a genuine expansion of consciousness.
There are, of course, several other forms of numerology. In the USA, many people have become involved in esotericism. Some authors have written new books with new numerology systems. That’s all quite nice. But for me, these works were not convincing enough.
Pay attention to the inner logic of numerology and to meaningful connections to the tarot. Then just try it out and see how far you get with it! I have certainly done well with this system. I see many references to the ancient knowledge that I have awakened in myself, and there are many connections to the secrets of the Akasha that I know how to read. Indian numerology only accepts the simple numbers from 1 – 9.

The practice
Numerology is an attempt to reduce all manifestations in this universe to simple terms, namely the numbers 1 to 9. Numerology obtains its numerical values through “occult reduction”, i.e. a cross sum is formed until only one digit remains.
Example: Date of birth 12.4.1956 – To make a numerological statement for this person, we calculate the sum of the digits. We can also use the same procedure for another event, e.g. for an important date, the conclusion of a contract, and evaluate the “birth number” of the contract.
1. the birth number stands for the day of birth. We calculate the date as 12 = 1 + 2 = 3 = Jupiter (see below for explanations). We call 3 the birth number. According to numerological teachings, it provides information about the previous karma of the person concerned, which he has already brought with him into this world through his birth. In the other case, the birth number provides information about the karmic connections that led to the conclusion of the contract.
2. the number of stars, for this we form the second sum of the whole date: 1 + 2 + 4 + 1 + 9 + 5 + 6 = 28 = 2 + 8 = 10 = 1 = sun. This number is referred to as the destiny number, star number or karma number of the person or the contractual partnership. It refers to the karma that this person has to expect through his actions in the course of the present life, or it shows the effects of the contract on the contractual partners! Thus, in our example, the life of this person or the effect of the contract will run from 3 = Jupiter influence to 1 = Sun influence. It will be all the more harmonious the more the person or contractual partner develops in accordance with the star influences shown here.

Example 2: The numerological analysis of two life partners shows the following constellation: 1st partner 5 – 9, 2nd partner 1 – 3
Let’s look at the interaction of the 4 numbers in our example. In this relationship, whether mother and child, spouse or business partner, we can say that the 5 (Mercury) can easily establish good connections with all the other stars (numbers), consequently also with the 1 (Sun) and the 3 (Jupiter). The 9 (Mars) belongs with Jupiter in the line of power (explanation of the stars follows below). Here we see a strong relationship developing: Mercury creates the connection to all existing influences, Sun is the astral form of the mundane Mars elements, Jupiter is the overriding power influence, which in turn is reflected and expressed in mundane Mars.

Overview with short keywords:
1 – Sun – ruler qualities, intelligent, perhaps authoritarian
2 – Moon – sensitive, receptive
3 – Jupiter – leadership qualities
4 – Uranus – urge for change
5 – Mercury – good communication and business acumen
6 – Venus – love and creativity
7 – Neptune – desire for adventure, curiosity
8 – Saturn – mystical energy, prophets, destiny
9 – Mars – worldly, material, assertive
If you know astrology, you can use your knowledge of the planets here.

In my book Esotericism Volume 1 you will find a detailed description of numerologythe number magic, the basics of Kabbalah, the tarot and the symbolism.
