Cosmic tunnels and winds
New scientific findings from the journal Astronomy & Astrophysics speak of “tunnels of dust caves filled with hot plasma” that could form a much larger network of the hot interstellar medium.

My original attitude to psychedelic drugs was again shaped by myself, by the experience of being in recovery for 40 years.
I don’t believe that in most cases we can fix things that are wrong inside of us with things that are outside of us, with all the things we reach for when we feel uncomfortable, be it drugs or alcohol or sex or reckless behavior. Especially people who are prone to addiction are always looking for things outside of themselves to fill that empty hole inside.
As I mentioned, my wife took her own life in 2012, leaving me with six children. And, um. And so all of those kids were at risk at the time, and they all ended up doing really wonderful things with their lives. And one of them caused me concern because he never processed his mother’s death in a way that I was able to observe. He was. He seemed like a happy kid. He was always smiling. He was in a lot of fist fights. He became a boxer and won a lot of tournaments, then he became a hockey player and … But everything he did was a bit violent and I was worried about him.
He left about five years ago. He was very introverted. We never talked about what was going on inside him. And he went to Patagonia to go kayaking or whitewater rafting. And I asked this guy to take my son in for a few days while he waited for his trip to start. The night my son got there, this guy said to him, “I’m going on an ayahuasca trip tonight.” And he said, “God sent you guys to me because he wanted to do it with 20 Pehuenche Indians.” And he said, “I prayed to God to send me a gringo to do it with.” And, um, my, my, my kid did it then.

It made me aware of the possibility that maybe there was something that I didn’t understand or that was outside of my kind of preconceptions. And then I have a friend who is a Navy Seal and had severe PTSD, and he went to Costa Rica and had the same experience there. And I had a couple other friends who were in the NFL, and they also had severe brain injuries and And depression, horrible, horrible depression. And the same thing happened. And then I watched Michael Pollan’s documentary, which I think is on Netflix. I think the third episode is about psilocybin. And in this episode, there’s a kid who suffered from severe OCD. He literally couldn’t leave the house. And he went on a psilocybin trip and was completely cured afterwards.
So I’m open to the idea that there might be things that I don’t know about. And that people should have the freedom to experiment with these things.
I like what you said at the beginning, that we know that if the pharmaceutical industry sees that there is money to be made from this, they will take that opportunity and make something very, very bad out of it. And advertise it in a way that should not be advertised. I would be in favor of this being made available at least in therapeutic settings and perhaps more generally, but in a way that would prevent exploitation by corporate control.
